Where to Find Sichuan Ya Cai

Anyone know where to find this in the Cities?

I've got Fuschia Dunlop's Every Grain of Rice, and just started cooking from it yesterday. It's great, and I was pleased with the outcome, but the Stir-Fried Green Beans were definitely not the same with the Tianjin Preserved Vegetables I substituted for the Ya Cai.

I got the rest of my supplies at United Noodles - has anyone seen this stuff elsewhere, at Dragon Star or Shuang Hur, maybe?

  1. I'm pretty sure I saw that brand of Sichuan yacai at United Noodles today. It was in the refrigerated section. The same row that the kimchi, quail eggs and other preserved, refrigerated vegetables are.

P.S. You will find many fans of Fuchsia Dunlop on the Home Cooking board. Feel free to share your reviews here.

Argh - the refrigerated section! It didn't even occur to me to look there! Thanks!

    2. Check the Chinese grocery on Como at Snelling. I heard from a Chinese student at Macalester that they have good stuff.
