      1. I haven't heard anything but I think it would be a good addition. Not great news for School House Pizza though. Didn't read anything about it going to the licensing board either so a bit curious what you have heard.

        1. On April 8th they were approved for an All Alcoholic Restaurant license and Cabaret License (pending inspections) by the Licensing Board. Found this info on the City of Quincy's website.

Thanks. I actually checked the city site and missed it. In the meantime I've found a few places in Quincy where I like the pizza; Darcy's, especially their buffalo chicken version; Carmine's for take out; Coops for shrimp scampi pizza and most recently the Hofbrau. One note of caution the Hofbrau is an old local dive bar and the kitchen has limited hours. The pizza though was really good.

I bet the chef from the Hofbrau would love to see this post. He rents kitchen space there and his food is great. I live around the corner and the Hofbrau is a new favorite hangout for us. :)

The rehabbing of "The Hofbrau" has to qualify as the most unlikely/unexpected food surprise since the first time I ate Tim Maslow's food at strip-t's after buying sandwiches there for 10 years.

We have gone to the Hofbrau for years. However, since earlier attempts to serve food never worked out I wasn't sure what to expect. I have to say I couldn't believe how good the pizza was. Burgers were good too. Gotta love Ellie the bartender and the chef seems like he knows his stuff.

            2. Oh boy, another pizza restaurant.

I tried that place once right after it opened. Let's just say it's no great loss that he's closed.
