Try the oki dog if u dare.

For me the chicken cutlet curry at hurry curry fits the bill too

          1. re: jessejames

Ha, for sure If he can eat that he can handle a Oki Dog.

            1. re: burntwater

Not sure I agree with your statement.

              1. re: A5 KOBE

Wrap that mess in a tortilla plus two hot dogs and you have a Oki dog. What's not to handle?

        2. Popeye's fried chicken $1.29 leg & thigh Tuesday special x3 w/Cajun rice.

Where do you find a Popeye's? I didn't think there were any near me. One of my sons is really into fried chicken. Thanks.

              1. re: Dirtywextraolives

Hmmm. Dirty, there really ain't none near you. Only a KFC if I'm not maitaken.

There's a few in the SGV. There used to
Be one in Santa Monica but that's been gone for years.

There's one on LaBrea near Rodeo in addition to a half dozen others in South LA.

There's some in the San Feenando Valley. I went to
The one in Canoga Park a couple weeks ago.

                1. re: kevin

Yea, that's what I thought, there used to be a KFC right down the hill from me but they closed shortly after we moved here an another mediocre pizza place moved in.

                  1. re: kevin

Popeyes in Glendale/Eagle rock on Colorado.

There's also one on Hollywood Bvd. by Caheunga, I think.

                    1. re: happybaker

Yeah. I forgot about the Cahuenga location.

                      1. re: happybaker

I left H'wood a couple of years ago, but the Hollywood/Cahuenga store was one of my regular stops.

La Brea and Jefferson, not far south of the 10. I can make it from west of the 405 there and back in half an hour if traffic is good, which it generally is for lunch on a Tuesday. Drive thru obviously.

                        1. re: Dirtywextraolives

There's a Popeye's on Laurel Canyon Blvd. just south of Magnolia Blvd. in Valley Village. :)

                          1. re: Dirtywextraolives

Is it a popeyes next to USC on Adams? It is one of the fried chicken places. Very accessible if you go off traffic hours.

                          2. re: TheOffalo

Some locations offer that special on Tuesday and Thursday

                            1. re: foufou

I heard (from someone on CH I think) that they offer the leg & thigh special every day, but it's $1.49 or $1.89 or something on the other days.

                          3. Why do so many guilty pleasures have to be "widow makers?"

I think I get what you are saying.

                              1. re: maudies5

that's what defines them as "guilty."

on the other hand, he will die happy, right??

                                1. re: maudies5

My guilty pleasures are less about the guilt of the fat & calories and more about the guilt of the huge sum of money spent ;)

                                  1. re: Dirtywextraolives

That is a good point. Sometimes I have to think, do I want something cheap and bad for me or something expensive and good for me? (Yes, I could find something cheap and good for me, but my cravings usually fall toward one of the two other extremes.)

                                    1. re: Dirtywextraolives

Ah, see, the "guilty" + "pleasure" is an important combo.

Huge sum of $ spent + unhealthy = pleasure >> guilt

Huge sum of $ + healthy = pleasure >> guilt

Cheap and bad = guilt and pleasure in equal amounts.

To me, Guilty Pleasures is something i thoroughly enjoy but am embarrassed to admit that i like. Such as McDonald's Chicken nuggets with sweet and sour sauce and a Yoshinoya Beef bowl.

                                    2. Seasoned curly fries and egg rolls at Jack in the Box
Beef and cheddar bombed with horsey sauce at Arby's

OMG yes to Beef 'n Cheddars! And I would always ask for like 4 extra sides of cheese sauce for dipping everything.
