Ritz Topping in Crockpot?

Im making cheesy potatoes in the crock pot. Is there a way to add a ritz topping to this dish? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you

  1. Is your crock insert oven safe? If so toss the ritz crumbs with melted butter and sprinkle on top. You can then put it under the broiler for so few minutes.

If not you could toss the crumbs with butter, spread on a jelly roll and bake until crispy. Sprinkle on right before serving. Another option is to sauté on the stove top until crispy/browned and sprinkle on before serving.

are you serving out of the crockpot? then you could put it in the oven, but that's a hassle, since it is heavy.

aren't you using the crockpot so you don't *have* to use the oven? like foodiex2, i'd suggest toasting the crumbled ritz crackers, but i'd use a dry skillet (because i don't think they need extra oil or butter -- they're pretty "buttery" as is, in my opinion.). if you do this, you can serve in a bowl or in the crock -- just putting the crumbs on top at the end -- uncovered.
