Best Pasta Miami Beach/South Beach

I have some friends that will be in town to break passover next week and they'd like to have pasta. What is everybody's favorite pasta dish? Favorite Italian restaurant?

I prefer to stay on Miami Beach.

I love the spaghetti at Scarpetta. Some of my other favorites are Sardinia, Macalusos, Macchialina, & Il Gabbiano.

  1. You have been to the places with the best pasta. My personal favorites are scarpetta and macchialina. The new black spaghetti clams is particularly good at macchialina. I also have come to appreciate the mushroom pasta they have had on the menu forever.

I did really like the carbonara dish at restaurant Michael Schwartz but still think the ones I mentioned above are the champs.

    1. Macchialina and Scarpetta are easy calls on Miami/South Beach. Both are excellent.

      I'd avoid Dolce and Lorenzo's.

I enjoyed the spaghetti with San Marzano tomato sauce and extra regianno cheese at Lorenzo.

Il Gabbiano, not cheap, was very good....I definitely plan on checking out Sardinia Enoteca and La Locanda...any other places worth checking out--Osteria del Teatro, Cara Mia Trattoria???

At Sardinia you should get the spaghetti bottarga. Their special pastas are almost always good too.

I have not been to La Locanda in many years but I felt it was inferior to Sardinia.

I have not been to Osteria Del Teatro in years either but Il Gabbiano was better (which I have also not been to in a long time).

The spaghetti in Scarpetta and pasta in general at Macchialina beats Lorenzo.

I really need to get back into Sardinia. I was a fan and haven't been back in a long time. When I did my first blog posts 6 years ago it was in my top 4.

CF: a little off-topic, but since you seem to be with me in the North end, any pasta picks near Aventura?

      2. I like Amami in Espanola way. The food is great. Service is also very good.

        1. I agree with the consensus choice of Scarpetta, but in SoBe I'd also cast a vote for Escopazzo on Washington Street.
