Heading off for a short break soon - Bell at Skenfrith on itinerary...another other recommendations?
I friend of mine lives in Abergevenny and once recommended this place. I haven't been.
The Hardwick at Abergavenny (well worth its Michelin star). And the Walnut Tree at Llanddewi Skirrid.
Apologies - it's the Walnut Tree that has a star.
Wishful thinking on my part that Stephen Terry should get one at the Hardwick(he held one when he was a previous owner of the Walnuut Tree).
Although The Hardwick and the Walnut Tree are both superb and they are different enough to include both on a visit.
Walnut Tree. Wonderful.
Have to add my thumbs up for the Walnut Tree. Sadly the Hardwick was closed for refurbishment when we were last there, (a couple of years ago) but will definitely be going back. One of the places it's worth making a whole holiday around the food!
We keep thinking of a return visit when the food festival is on in Abergavenny.
