Will be traveling to Quebec City at the end of the month and am looking for good, but unfortunately less expensive, places to eat. On a bit of a budget. Any help would be much appreciated.

  1. Aux Anciens Canadiens specializes in very tasty regional dishes. It's a casual, charming spot in the heart of Old Quebec -- 34 rue St. Louis, Tel: (418) 692-1627. Prices are moderate.

Aux Anciens Canadiens is a great place for Quebecois food as well as other dishes and they have a nice "hote de table" at lunchtime $14.25 CAD for a glass of wine or beer, soup, entree, dessert and coffee or tea. All up and down rue St Jean are great little restaurants that are reasonably priced. For coffee and breakfast I recommend Brulerie Tatum Cafe also on St Jean. QC is a great little getaway full of history, charm and great food. Bon Appetit!

also, when we were there, the "lunch" ran til 6 pm - so you could also have dinner at that bargain price.

Look through past postings and you will see about some of the other excellent and not-particulary-touristic choices there.
