So far I see a few Yelp reports http://www.yelp.com/biz/jose-chiquito... but wonder if any of you "downtown hounds" have sampled this place yet?

  1. It's pretty good... in a lunch counter type of way. If you just want a simple well prepared sandwich or some place where you can actually tell the cook "Hold This" "Add This" and not be given a look or charged $$$ for it, it's perfect.

Is it the destination for GCM? Absolutely not. But if in your group there is always that one person who wants a White Bread Turkey Sandwich with no mayo or tomatoes for under $10. This is the place to steer them towards...

Thanks, Dommy. It looked interesting. GCM is really going to become a destination over time.

Yeah. I'm glad its there because there is always that one person. Or really, sometimes you just need a simple sandwich (I had their Ruben which was very well put together. Not the most delicious Ruben ever, but still very earnest)

    2. OT, but I was at GCM yesterday and intended to post thanking Dommy and Ernie for their long-ago rec of the chile relleno burrito. Instead I'm slipping it in here. Thanks, it hit the spot!

Thanks, their Gorditas are my go to but, I'll definitely give the chile relleno burrito a go.

It definitely did not disappoint like the famed one at La Azteca that I had fairly recently. Pretty massive as well.

        2. It's very run of the mill like any Jim's Burger quality basically.
