A WOW meal
When foodies here post that the burbs lack any really fine restaurants, I kind of turn blue for a minute.
Case in point is Spring Mill Cafe in Conshohocken.
Last night's meal was a winner +.
One guest, whose smoked trout and smoked salmon salad appetizer was memorable, pronounced the filet so extraordinarily superb that we others all fudged for a taste and went gaga.
I would have gotten it had I not seen a rack of lamb that caught my eye and brother, it also was done to perfection as attested by the hill of bones left on my plate.
Another guest praised her scallops to the skies.
Desserts brought us delectable lemon curd angel cake, chocolate mousse, and my ever lovin' pralines and cream ice cream.
A winner of a dinner and very highly recommended.
Sshhhhh....this is the best kept Montco secret since The Mainland Inn and The Hotel Tremont. I've enjoyed several exquisite meals there. Chef Michele offers (or did offer.....hmmmm...haven't received an email notice in a while) culinary classes followed by dinner. A charming little gem of a bistro.
