Ever had Modus Hoperandi?

  • 7

I just got a case of Modus Hoperandi from Ska Brewing.
Has anyone ever had it? I will be trying it in a few hours.
After that, I will make a report.

I also got another case of Worthy IPA from Bend, Oregon.
I liked that so much I got another case.

  1. Looking forward to the report. I'd try it based on the clever name alone.

    1. Ska Brewing's Modus Hoperandi was pretty good! Fairly complex malty body with a fair amount of amber colour, but not really very heavy at all. Dizzying collection of hops, but not easily identified, all in sufficient quantity for a great boost of bitterness, with impressive aroma profile. One of the better IPAs I have had in a while.

I thought it was pretty good as well. Definitely not a West Coast IPA but tasty.

      2. Several friends of mine swear by it. I just tried it one time and wasn't overwhelmed. Would try again.

        1. Just had another Modus Hoperandus IPA, and it is indeed a pretty well made brew. I like the slightly darker and heavier maltiness than the Worthy IPA offers, and having both of them around is a good pairing, so I can select one of them depending upon the mood and the food I am having.

TombstoneShadow, thank you for your comments. You may ask your friends who swear by it what it is they like about it.

          1. I am officially a fan of this beer. Had it for the first time last week, while traveling on business. Now that I'm back in DC, I can't find it. If there is anyone out there from the DC area, that knows where to find M.H., let me know.

According to Seekabrew, the closest to DC would be North Carolina or Illinois.
