Sushi and Dim Sum

  • 8

Hi all,

I am taking a trip to Las Vegas next week and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for sushi and dim sum. For sushi, I prefer more traditional style (nigiri) rather than the crazy rolls, not that those are bad. It seems like Kabuto has good reviews.

Also, I am a big fan of dim sum, so if anyone knows of a good spot it would be greatly appreciated.

I am staying at The Palms, but I don't mind a short taxi ride if the juice is worth the squeeze. Thanks in advance!

  1. Sushi - Kabuto.

Dim-Sum - KJ at The Rio. NOT Cathay House.

Awesome. Thank you for your quick reply!

    2. Favorite spots for dim sum are Ping Pang Pong in the Gold Coast and Orchids Garden on Sahara. I agree with the previous poster, stay away from Cathay House. Used to be nice many years ago, but has seriously gone downhill.

      1. I was not impressed with Orchids Garden, but Pin Pang Pong has always been excellent.

        1. Since you are at the Palms, walk over to the Rio and try KJ Dim Sum. It's right across from the Buffet. Dim sum is usually pretty good, but they have had their 'off days' on occasion,.

I found a great price performer that is fairly good. However it is way off the beaten path, if you are close to the strip without a car. It's called Dim Sum Cafe and it is as far west as you can go without going into the desert. It's about 2 blocks north of Flamingo on Hualapai. Probably not worth a 20 minute expensive cab ride, but if you have access to a car or a friend with a car, you may want to give it a try.
