Lake Tahoe Lunches

My wife and I will be in Lake Tahoe mid-May. Our dinners will be light meals since we will be busy with photography at sunset and would like to avoid eating late. We would like to find restaurants that we can stop at lunch for a leisurely main meal of the day. We are flexible with cuisine type and cost as well as location since we can plan our day around our lunch choice. We are looking for chowhound worthy restaurants. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, in advance.

  1. South or Northshore, Calif side or Nevada side - long drive between the two. Best sunset views from the Nevada side.

I plan to base myself at incline village as well as South lake Tahoe and drive the CA and NV sides as weather dictates. I want to photograph Emerald bay and some of the sites on the south shore as well as the beaches on the Nevada side. I will travel for a nice meal, so the location can be anywhere near the lake.

    2. See if the West Shore Cafe is open yet for the season in Homewood, or try Sunnyside in the same area - both for lake views and good dining.

Great lake views also from the historic Ehrman Mansion at the Sugar Pine Point state park in the same area - take a picnic here or a pre-or post meal sojourn.

West shore cafe won't be open. Sunnyside has great view. hope the food is as good.

The restaurant is dinner only. Were you recommending the Brooks Bar & Deck?

        2. The bar in the Lone Eagle Grill in the Hyatt is right on the beach with great views. Sunshine Cafe has pretty good food for takeout.

How is the food at Lone Eagle Grill? Hotel food or better? I could not locate Sunshine Cafe on the web. Is it near the Hyatt?

          2. Here's the website for Sunshine Deli.

The formal restaurant at the Hyatt is very expensive. I recommend eating lunch in the bar area which is moderate and good. It's not hotel dining.
