Will be going to New Orleans next Thursday through Saturday and need some must have dinning options. Not interested in fine dinning, but really want to experience the local food. We are a family of 4 with a 12 yr old, and a 14 yr old. My wife does not eat seafood, but the rest of us eat anything. Please help. Thanks

    Cochon Butcher for lunch
    Surry’s for breakfast
    Port of Call for burgers
    Dat Dog for hot dogs
    Domenica for pizza
High Hat for New Orleans food
Guy’s, Johnny’s or Parkway for po boys

I assume you will be at Jazz Fest for at least one day. Just plan to eat there. The food is part of the festival.

shanefink's list is a good one.

I haven't been since they reopened, but I suspect Frankie & Johnny's is a good choice for experiencing local food, especially with kids. (Look for me there on Thursday night before heading to the Rock 'n' Bowl for some zydeco, which also is something you and your kids probably would enjoy.)
