Buscuits and gravy in OBX

I'm going to be in the Outer Banks for a few weeks and I looking for some really good biscuits and gravy. The gravy needs to be top notch. Homemade is a must and with good chunks of sausage. Too many times when I've ordered it in my travels, the gravy is thin, lacking any sausage taste and most likely was from a can. Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks, Mike

  1. You might want to specify where you'll be...the Outer Banks are 100 miles from north to south.

That said, I would try Sam and Omie's in Nags Head or Henry's in Kitty Hawk. I've eaten breakfast at both and enjoyed the food, but I haven't had sausage gravy at either.

    1. In regard to specificity...I did ask for people who had had enjoyed biscuits and gravy on The Outer Banks to give suggestions. I didn't ask about breakfasts in general, there are already threads covering that. So much for specificity.
ps. during my time there I will be visiting from Corolla down to Hatteras.

I was merely suggesting that you will get more pertinent suggestions if you provide a specific location (assuming you get any suggestions...the OBX doesn't get a lot of traffic on this site). As to my suggestions, I was just trying to be helpful...again, postings on the OBX can be sparse, so I thought I'd at least give you some leads. Given your response, I wish I hadn't bothered.

Thanks you for your kind intentions and good bye. Let's see the Chowhound Overlords lets this one survive.

      2. You should rock your friends/family world and make sausage gravy!!!! It's so easy and good!!!

        1. So specifically, since you got no specific recs, did you specifically find any specifically good biscuits and gravy? It would appear not too many people had any specific recs, but some people did specifically attempt to help you.
