Smoked Trout Appetizer

A week ago, I caught my first Rainbow Trout of the season at a local lake. I smoked the fish and then froze them for later use. Today, I made a wonderful smoked trout appetizer. This is a great recipe for a quick, elegant and easy appetizer. Make this for your next dinner party and impress your guest!

1 smoked trout
1 small onion
1 tsp capers
2 tbsp Olive Oil
Salt and pepper
A Triple crème Brei Cheese

  1. That looks delicious - thanks for posting.

I make these smoked trout fish cakes often -- something else for you to try with your home smoked fish

      1. That looks fantastic FN. It seems to be a much fancier version of what my mother used to make in the 50's and 60's which was a can of sardines mashed up in a block of cream cheese. It was fantastic. I now have made it fancier by using a can of smoked trout from TJ's and a block of cream cheese. Yours my friend looks much better.

        1. I would do serious damage to that. Looks fantastic. Love smoked anything.
