Take out counter more than a restaurant with service but you can eat on premises. It's a mom and pops kind of place.
Mom is a very talented chef. Her haleem dish is fantastic so is her chana dish and chiken biryanni. Dirt cheap price and pops insisted that biryanni is 3$ mon to wed. 4$ regular.
Total cost of meal was 13$ for 3 dishes more than enough for 2 people.
A biryanni for 3$? It would cost me more than that to make it at home, and I shop carefully for rice, meat, fish or other proteins, vegetables... What on earth is in it? Or in the Haleem dish? (yes, I know what that is, in South Asian and Persian variations). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haleem
It is bicycle season again, so I can easily get those home to Petite-Italie... Diagonally through Jarry Park.
By the way, the city and borough are planning to spruce up that stretch of Jarry. Indeed it looks rather sad.
