5 nights in Paris, need some dining help please

My husband and I will be traveling from Amsterdam to Paris for 5 nights. We need some suggestions on where to eat. There are so many "districts" and choices to make. We like everything and a bit more in price when on vacation for dinner is fine. We would like the "local" fare, bistros etc to sample whatever they are known for. Thanks for your time and help.

  1. Dear Hilary, Since your request is so general ("We like everything"), people will be hard-pressed to give you any meaningful advice. I would suggest you do a search in this forum, using the key-word "bistro", and see which restaurants pop up and what people have had to say. You can always Google the names of the restaurants to see what they look like and what their menus consist of. I think you'll find that to be a more meaningful inquiry than just a general question to the chowhound community.

    1. I join Bauskern in asking for a little more guidance from you. There are hundreds and hundreds of good options... so where to begin ? Give us some filters like location (métro station or intersection closest to your hotel), budget (30€ or 300€ ?), days of the week you will be in Paris (some restaurants are closed the entire weekend, many on Sunday, and some on Monday), lunch or dinner or both, your age/ style, preference for type of cuisine (trad or modern French ?), setting (cutesy or sleek?), etc etc
