Tupelo Honey coming to Raleigh?

  • 9

I heard that New Raleigh was reporting that Tupelo Honey will be opening a location in Cameron Village (as part of the new development taking place there).

Anyone able to confirm?

I saw that too on his Twiiter feed!

With that said (and I hate the expession "with that said"), when the BF & I ate at Tupelo Honey last year it was just meh…. not at all what I was expecting after the hype.

Which location? I had a very meh experience at their south Asheville spot. I used to enjoy their downtown location. It got so popular that the wait was no longer appealing so I haven't been for over 5 years.

I have had very good experiences at both Asheville locations. They have now expanded to Chattanooga, Knoxville, Johnson City, Greenville and Charlotte. I haven't been to any of the non-Asheville locations.

Wow! Had no idea they had expanded past Asheville.

I wouldn't write them off based on my S. Avl. experience. May have just been an off day or may have ordered the wrong "for me" thing.

I used to go regularly when I was a waitron. At that point they were one of the few options available later in the evening.

I loved their breakfast options but the weekend wait was brutal. Usually defaulted to Maybells (?) until Sunny Point opened up. Gotta say I miss breakfast at Sunny Point quite a bit! Once in awhile they had a ricotta crème brûlée oatmeal which I still crave...

I worry when a place expands so much in a short amount of time. Has this all happened fairly quickly (say, within 5 years)?

Yes, fairly quickly I believe, maybe even in the past 3 years or so.

It was the downtown location that we visited.

I didn't even know there was another location in Asheville, not to mention all the other locations. Very interesting!

Wife and I were at the Asheville location back in July....
