We recently ate at this restaurant in Halifax. After years of very good food it seems the menu has changed - and perhaps the chef and ownership - and the quality has taken a precitous nose- dive. The two different kebobs ordered no longer had any dipping sauces and they were served with the usual rice and mashed potatoes - yes mashed potatoes though the menu more appropriately called them mushed potatoes. Potatoes and rice??? The potatoes were awful, they poured off the spoon and were so watery they could not be picked up by a fork. The menu also said with roasted vegetables - well we counted 3 x 1.5" snow peas, 1 x .5" baby corn, 4 x 2" x .25" carrots totalling about 2.5 tbs. of roasted soggy vegetables. Not only was the plate a terrible sight to look at it was a nutritional travesty. The kebobs were good but needed the sauces. Someone needs to send a dietician out for a consult with them.
I wish I had taken a photo of the plates; on second thought I'm glad I didn't as I don't want a reminder.
I assume costs have gotten the best of the place. One can clearly see where all this is headed. Until I hear of major change back to the standards of bygone days it's good-bye to this place.
