Crazy Tomato Trattoria to become Fratelli Village Pizzeria

My prayers have been answered. The people who run Fratelli know exactly how to delivery great food and service consistently. My #1 restaurant in Scarborough is becoming my neighbour. Wow! All I can say is Wow.

  1. That's old news, it was mentioned by "Full Tummy" in the other thread 2 days ago :-)

I'll have to try the octopus one day when they open. How does it compare to grilled octopus at some place in Greektown?

Not sure if I could make an accurate comparison. Fratelli's is lightly marinated and is like butter in the mouth.

    2. Set to open this Tuesday, April 15. Don't take my word for it. Get behind me in the line-up.

How do I know which one in the line is you?

        1. re: foodyDudey

I'm betting very high heels (subway dine and dash threads...), big hair and a bottle of vodka!
          Love ya Googs ;)

Well that's what I figured from her photo.

And that's why I want to meet Splendid Wine Snob :-)

SWS... FoodyDudey, when did you get to be so funny? You're hilarious.

I quit this board a while back FD, now under a new handle...SWS lives on, but is soon moving to Europe. Think I'll be happier contributing to the Europe board. But I'm still hooked to the melodrama of the Ontario board!

I was wondering where you went, and also noticed BMS had shown up, but I thought that was just someone new. Have a great time in Europe!

hmmm I wish "Chicago Eatery" on Pape sounded like a promising venture.

            1. re: julesrules

With a name like that, it seems like a new outpost of "Detroit Eatery", not a Toronto version of Alinea or the now closed Charlie Trotters

            2. If two visits on soft opening week are any indication, get thee to Fratelli, 2714 St Clair @ O'Connor.

              1. Finally made it to Fratelli's this Saturday. We could never get to the Scarborough location, so the EY location was super convenient. We arrived at 5pm when they open and it was soon fairly packed within the hour. The food was delicious - kids and husband had the pizzas and I had the penne alla vodka. The pizza is not like Queen Margeurita or LIbretto, with a slightly thicker crust. The service is very friendly and speedy. They were great with the kids and you could probably be in and out of there within an hour. Felt like they had a legion of regulars. Definitely will be back. Kids loved it and price is right.

I was there Saturday night as well. That makes 3 times in 2 weeks. My bff and I are absolutely in love with the food. Can-not wait to take Gigi there. We will absolutely and without a doubt be weekly regulars there. Kudos to Sal. The man knows how to run a restaurant.

Clearly. The service was fantastic and I felt like they catered enough to the kiddies to keep us away from Jack Astors... at least for now. :)
