Where to buy Picon Amer in Paris, France

elecsheep9 Apr 7, 2014 08:38 AM

I am trying to get my hands on a bottle or two of Picon Amer. Unfortunately, it is no longer exported to the United States.

I have a friend who will be travelling to Paris next week and was hoping she might be able to pick up a bottle.

Is Picon Amer widely available in Paris (or available at all?) Any recommendations on where to find it in Montmartre?

How much does a bottle cost? (Online, it seems to be about 22 euros.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Every caviste or supermarket will have Amer Picon. It is quite common.

Price: 12,63 euro at Monoprix. 22 euro is a gyp.

      Thanks. That's great news.

I see that the Monoprix website lists "Amer Picon a consommer avec de la biere". (link provided below)

Is this the normal style of Picon Amer? I've seen pictures of bottles that don't say "biere" on it. I didn't know if there were different types. If so, what would be standard for cocktails, if you know?

        Thanks again.

It is often drunk as an addition to a glass of beer.
