Kitchen Nightmares .... back to Amy's Baking Company

Amy and Sammy claim Gordon sexually harassed her.... this should be good

  1. IMO, these people do not merit another thread, much less another chance to be on TV..

    1. That popular kid phrase "ass clowns" immediately comes to mind.
These sad, demented characters epitomize that.

      1. Her husband said that in a November 5/13 YouTube video. Old news. You already posted this on the other thread. Why start a new one?

I thought the same thing, but the Mods encourage multiple threads on the same topic. I suspect they all come from the Department of Redundancy Dept.

          1. re: greygarious

I told her awhile back that she was a Harbinger of Doom when it comes to this stuff:-)

        2. Basically because the show is finally going to air this week. It's been delayed for over a month.

          1. Ramsay harasses everybody. It is part of his brand. Why should she be different?

            1. An update for Friday's opening of the season on why Amy refuses to hire male chefs/cooks in her kitchen

Just another lawsuit tossed on their very big pile

              2. According to my DVR, it's going to be a 2 hour show. The recording is locked and loaded.

I plan to watch... unless it is super windy and my antenna is messed up... then i guess it is a quick drive to town :D

                2. According to reports from friends, they are on Dr. Phil today as I type.

                  1. A link to a story about the staffers at the Ariz. Biz Journal that will be on the show.... best part is Amy and Sammy have already commented on their post.

These 2 clowns were on Dr."he's not a real doctor"Phil today. What a hoot!
Even the good Dr. was getting annoyed by their audacity.

                      1. re: petek

Hardly, from what I witnessed. Dr. Phil blew smoked up their asses, which allowed those 2 to be docile.
One cross word and they want to slit your throat.
                        I was pretty disgusted.

I'd love to see Gordon on Dr. Phil to tell the real story.

Again, a real kiss-ass fest to promote Gordon's show.

                        What a waste.

Oh, ftr, I'm most certainly not "jellus" of those 2 Bozos.

                        1. re: petek

I saw some of that. These are two very not well people. Perfect for the good doctor's show which, of late, has turned into a slightly less combative version of Jerry Springer.

Amy said something about she shouldn't have done the show with GR. Oprah or Martha Stewart would have better understood what she was about. And then she declared herself not a media whore. Really?

Totally delusional. Kinda sad. But watching a train wreck is always compelling.

                          1. re: petek

Dr Phil didn't call them out on a lot of stuff, like the "did she or didn't she bake the desserts herself" question., or the deal with the tips

But I have to say I felt a wee bit sorry for Amy in particular. NO ONE deserves to have the vile things said about her that some of the anonymous Internet assholes said. When he read some of the comments and she sat there quietly crying, I thought that was the most geniune moment of the show.

Dr Phil was right, though. Don't read that stuff. People on most Internet boards feel absolutely free to say the vilest insults they would never say face to face.

                            1. re: coney with everything

Amy would cut your throat as you sleep.
She deserves no pity for what she's brought on herself.

Of course, the threats are over the top. That's the internet for you.
But, Amy needs to hire security if she feels threatened and she will never stop her outrageous behavior, with her mafioso thug by her side.

                              They are THUGS.
                              Your pity is wasted.
Amy wouldn't spit on you if you were on fire.

                              1. re: monavano

I don't pity her for her sake, and would never expect her to reciprocate; despite the professions of them being such Christians, I think she didn't go to the meeting where they explained what being "Christian" is supposed to entail. They are both nuts and mean to boot, not to mention probably in violation of all sorts of laws.

But the threats of rape is just beyond the pale. I just don't think it should ever be used against anyone. I can feel sorry for her while understanding that she would never feel any such feeling herself.

                                1. re: coney with everything

                                  Got it.
It was just exasperating watching Dr. Phil practically kiss their asses when he's excoriated others, which seems to be his schtick lately.
Of course Amy purrs like a kitten (ha!) when she's getting stroked, but cross her and you will get everything she's gotten and more.

They are sick, vile people who have no intention of changing.

Oprah and Martha? Ha! They wouldn't touch these 2 with a 10-foot pole.

                                  1. re: monavano

What's so bizarre is that GR didn't pick them out and just drop by to shoot Kitchen Nightmares. Amy and Sammy applied to be on the show. They wanted the publicity and (although I can't imagine why) they expected that GR would take their detractors to task for being so mean.

I think it's clear that they don't deal with reality. Sammy's comment about coupons. Amy's comment about how people shout at each other in restaurants in other parts of the world (I've been to other parts of the world including Israel - never seen anything like them). The whole - "we have to fight them" schtick.

I gotta think they're a deck of about 48 cards between them.

                                      You're generous!
                                      I think they've got 2 jokers!

Amy and Sammy had an agenda and when it didn't go according to script, they went straight to carpet bombing.

                            2. re: petek

I thought it was pretty revealing when they were getting good advice from a PR expert and all Samy heard was "coupons". He disregarded 99% of the what the man said and went on a rant about how there will be no coupons because they give good value and people have no problem paying their prices. smh

                              1. re: Christina D

                                They don't want help.

Anyone who thinks different is wasting their precious time.

                                1. re: Christina D

Yeah. Nothing wrong with us or the way we do business, and our food is amazing. We just can't figure out why our restaurant is doing so poorly.

it's because all of these stupid, nitpicky bastards won't quit trashing us on the internet.

I never saw the first episode, but I caught most of tonight's....

                            3. wow that was so stupid, I feel bad for all parties involved at this point

                              1. *Spoilers*

After watching the initial episode last year I was not sure how they could make themselves look worse in this follow-up episode but somehow, someway they made themselves look even more dreadful.

And they saved the best for last. Amy is raving about how she and Samy are so united and how great they are together right before they both get into a terrible argument yelling at each other over asking Gordon Ramsay to give them a second chance.

If there are two people that really deserve each other it would be Amy and Samy.

P.S. I thought Samy said not too long ago that he was being threatened with deportation? I wonder what happened with that issue?

                                  1. re: petek

I'd almost order one online just to see if they actually sent it after I paid for it. But I consider it a bad gamble, so i won't, IF they're selling them online.

                                2. I've been in the restaurant business 32 years. People like this are the ones who give restaurateurs a bad name.

                                  1. Good grief, what a waste of my time. I'm sure they're happy that Gordon gave them another go at publicity, but they need to dig deep and get a grip. Not probable, I'm sure. A Samy/Amy traffic wreck!

The next printing of Websters has Amy's name after the word 'psychopath'.
Samy is nothing more then a thug. He wears shoes with Velcro strips because no sentient thought has ever entered his mind. Another time and place and he would have been 'sleeping with the fishes'.

Eater.com had a pretty funny recap posted on their site for those that don't want to watch the cluster f*.

                                        1. re: Firegoat

I laughed at this line in the Eater.com recap.

"I wish that BuzzFeed had been in its current form back when this shitshow happened so I could take a "What Poorly Prepared Food Item From Amy's Baking Company Are You?" quiz."

And curious if the "ABC" commenter who has posted 3x on the comments on that article is really Amy/Samy or an Internet impersonator.

P.S. I didn't see either the original or follow-up show with "bonus footage". I've got more than enough idea of how they're both wearing the crazypants and are egotistically feeding off of all of this attention.

"Samy is nothing more then a thug"

I've met pre teens that are bigger thugs than Sammy he's just a wanna be..If he ever ran into a real "thug" he'd shit his pants...

That whole thug thing was really interesting. Samy said he no let Ramsay git on top of him...he (Samy) said he be the man on top of Ramsay.

Is that some type of prison cell activity reference?

                                      2. I was not able to see this when it aired, and falsely thought I could watch it on demand, but Kitchen Nightmares isn't an available show on demand. I guess my only other alternative is to be lucky enough to catch the rerun when it airs.

Long story short, was the 2nd the same as the first? Just a bunch of foolish posturing with nothing constructive being accomplished? Did Ramsey get them to change their food?

BBCAmerica runs Kitchen Nightmare re-runs and I watch them, force of habit that is what I searched on demand for. Now that I come to think of it I'm not sure I've ever actually watched a first run episode.

                                                      Thanks again!

                                                    3. re: jrvedivici

Ok I found it on Fox On Demand last night and watched it. I was actually disappointed in the entire format of the show. I thought Gordon was going back out there to try and "work" with them again, this was nothing more than a ratings grab.

                                                      One thing that came out of my watching the show is I wrote this joke;
"Horse walks into Amy's Baking Company and say's; hey Amy why the long face???"...............

                                                      OK.......my observations;

Amy has had a chin implant.

                                                      Amy is certifiably crazy.

Someone should get Sammy laid, and show him Amy isn't the only woman in the world with one of "those". It's apparent after watching the "bonus" footage that the biggest problem in both the restaurant and the relationship is Sammy trying to protect Amy's feelings has given her a completely delusional view of herself and her world.

It was interesting to see how in some of her more candid moments she clearly said the biggest problem of the restaurant is Sammy.......several times she blamed her husband for her problems. He has so insulated her from reality she is actually turning on the only person she has that supports her. It's no wonder he is so prone to his out bursts, I'm sure he loves her and has spent tremendous amount of money trying to make this dream of hers a reality. He can't bring himself to hurt her feelings and tell her the truth, so he holds it in, as was the case with Ramsey, he agreed with Ramsey about the food but never told Amy.

He's on the front lines with all the complaints....he see's his money walking out the door every day.......but he tries to protect her feelings. Then obviously she resents him......and I'm sure she gives him a more than fair ration of shit to eat a day, I actually left that show feeling more sorry for him than angry. He's an older guy with his "trophy" wife, who was probably already mentally unstable when he met her, spent a ton of money on cosmetic surgery to bolster her self esteem, and now spends twice as much trying to keep her fragile ego in place.

A complete waste of time from a food aspect, but a completely fascinating look at human relationships.

                                                      1. re: jrvedivici

                                                        Really fascinating insight.
Clearly, it's Sammy and Amy against the world.
It must be so incredibly exhausting to get up each and every day, don your boxing gloves, and swing away.
                                                        Day after day after day.

It's not hard to see these folks live in utter fear every day, yet they think we're jealous.
At least, that's what they evidently tell themselves.

                                                        Truly delusional.

I can picture them as 'King Sammy and Queen Amy' ruling Circassia.
"OFF WITH HIS HEAD!!!!!" Sammy: "But darling all he did was ask if you 'brought in' the halivas".

                                                        2. re: jrvedivici

Great comments, Jr. One of the things I found illuminating in this episode is that when a customer returns food to the kitchen Samy never tells Amy why it was returned. So she is off on her own little planet and never receives honest feedback regarding the crummy food she is serving.

As a business owner, I know for a fact that the only way to successfully run a business is to receive and act upon constructive criticism. Samy is not doing Amy any favors by shielding her from the truth. But he is in a tough spot because Amy is his wife and I am sure he thinks that if he passes along a customer complaint, that in her deluded mind she will take that as some type of criticism from him and not the customer.

So your wife is getting dressed for going out to dinner and she says, "Honey, does this skirt make my butt look fat?" Of course the husband is going to say no it looks just great.

That is fine for maintaining marital harmony, but it is no way to run a successful business.

                                                          1. re: Fowler

Exactly....when I first watched the original episode I thought they were two miserable pea's in a pod. After watching this one, I see Sammy is the victim of his own creation, he has allowed Amy to live in an environment where she has become detached from reality. Actually kind of sad if you really look at it for what it is.

                                                            1. re: jrvedivici

Sad indeed. I am not defending Samy, but when Ramsay would complain about the food Amy was making, Samy would say something like "tell her that". And at least to me it did not sound like Samy was challenging Ramsay to give her the bad news but more like a plea from a tired, broken down man to please tell her the truth.

I love my SO , but I do not think we could ever run a restaurant together because of all of the friction that would occur as a result of just being honest with each other. Samy appears to be following the path of least resistance and that will drive a business into failure.

                                                          2. re: jrvedivici

Amy's messed up life is not her husband's fault. She did time in federal prison for ID theft & credit fraud. Before she even met Mr ATM.

                                                              There's that, too.

Funny how Dr. Phil didn't bring that up.

There must be some media/corporate connection behind Dr. Phil's kiss ass-fest.

It annoy's me that now they have a cult-ish following of people who are going there, patronizing them hoping to see the shit show in person. The public should just ignore them and let them slither away.

At least pre 9/11--used to be SOP in the Detroit area when it was just another bridge to cross to go to Windsor; pay the toll and show your driver's license, then head to the bar.

Plus, I do not think the person doing the interview really had a chance to ask all of the questions she may have intended to ask. It seemed like once Amy's mouth got running it was nearly impossible to turn it off or get in additional questions.
