Thought I'd take a moment to compliment Redemption on a very nice meal tonight. I have no idea why I've waited this long to try it, knowing Chef Greg Picolo's food from the Bistro at the Maison de Ville. He hasn't missed a step: Creole fried eggplant sticks with powdered sugar; fried oyster bruschetta; smoked soft shell crab with sauce choron; baked crab-stuffed shrimp; sautéed grouper with green pea risotto and flying fish roe beurre blanc; chocolate crème brulee; and pistachio cheese cake. We at like kings in the glorious Christian's-of-old renovated church setting. Locals like me who haven't gone...go!

      And even we non-locals always love to read your dining reports, Sir Sanglier, and follow your lead! Redemption sounds great. Can't wait to be back in your fine city in about 26 days. If I get inspired I will try to organize a mini-chowdown but since it is JF weekend it may be tough. Email me if you still have that slip o' paper from Peche!

        Uh oh, the slip of paper...I hope it wasn't the recipe for smoked tuna dip, if so I lost it!
