Fish Pontchartrain in the French Quarter

amysuehere Apr 4, 2014 04:25 PM

I'm looking for a place that does a great fish P. (blackened being my favorite) in the quarter BUT a place we can still wear jeans/nice shirt (casual-ish).

Had to look up Pontchartrain sauce. Found a variation, as with anything cooked in N: can be a simple sauce with lump crabmeat or a complicated sauce with shrimp stock and backfin crabmeat and I am sure many things in between.

I would think that if you called K-Paul's, they might have it on the menu, or since they specialize in blackened dishes, could easily prepare it. I would not go there in jeans, but I have seen people casually dressed in there.

We're trying to keep it casual, as we will be bringing other bulky stuff and still want to do carry-on. So, the dresses/slacks are out.

I come from a different generation. I am sure nice jeans
would be acceptable. Call the restaurant and ask.

When they started the place, men in suits and ladies' equivalents were common. No more. I've seen jeans in Antoine's fer cryin' out loud. K-Pauls was never very formal. I am sure jeans would be fine.
