Digestivo store in Brooklyn?

I saw on Melissa Clark's Twitter feed that someone is petitioning to open a specialty liquor store in Park Slope that sells digestifs and aperitifs.  It reminded me once again that I'm in the market for a bottle of Borsci San Marzano and haven't been able to find it in any stores or online.  Does anyone know where I could buy it? The store sounds like a great idea, as I'd love a place to stock up on my favorite Amari instead of having to ask people to bring me bottles when they're in Italy.

  1. The only problem is they can only sell products that are imported into the US, and distributed in NY state. So you still won't be able to get many of those bottles that you ask friends to bring back from Italy.

But it does sound like it will be a fun store.

I heard that Borsci Elisir San Marzano isn't being produced any more, but have no idea if that is really so. I do know that the importer was Winebow at one time.

Here's there contact info. They may be able to help. http://www.winebow.com/contact.php

    1. Borsci is now owned by Caffo, which produces a line of digestivi and licori, most popularly the excellent Vecchio Amaro del Capo. Mt Carmel Liquors off Arthur Ave in the Bronx and Astor have both carried Borsci, and should still.http://www.caffo.com/
