Recommendations in Ireland - 4 cities

My wife and I will be doing a fly and drive in Ireland in May 2014. Our itinerary will be as follows:
5/21 in Cork
5/22 in Killarney
5/23 in Bunratty
5/24 in Galway
I'd appreciate any restaurant recommendations you would be kind enough to give. We are not looking for Michellin 3 stars, but do enjoy a good meal. Thanks in advance.

  1. There are quite a few threads about food in Ireland. Put the city name in the search engine at the top of the page, and you're bound to find some ideas. I've been to Killarney and Galway, but it was long ago so I can't give any personal recommendations. There's a nice hotel outside Killarney proper - The Muckross House, and I'd imagine the food there is still quite good.

    1. Cork. If you happen to be there in the morning, try the Liberty Grill on Washington St, At lunchtime, perhaps you might wander into the foodie temple that is the English Market and sample the fare at the Farmgate.
Although it can get a little loud, Electric on South Mall is a good place for an evening meal.

Galway. If fish is your thing, Oscars would be the place to try. Not far away is Aniar, a recent recipient of a Michelin star.
For simpler fare in town, McDonaghs is pretty reliable for mainly fish based options.
