Crepes like the Magic Pan?

DianeQT Apr 2, 2014 09:15 AM

Does anyone remember "The MAGIC PAN"? A crepes house. Anywhere does anyone know one like it around now? They had crepes for lunch and dinner plus dessert. So good.

Crepevine (which I love) is Northern CA only, so far. I'll miss them if/when I move back down to LA.

There's a crepe restaurant in Belmont Shore. It is done up like a French creperie and I thought it was quite good. They serve both savory and dessert creeps as well as quiches.

There's the French Crepe Company at the Farmers Market @ Third & Fairfax. I haven't eaten there (so can't vouch for how good they are), but they have both sweet and savory crepes. Their stall is cute and they make the crepes right in front of the customer counter.

I've eaten there a few times. Decent, not great, but a good value.

I never went to the Magic Pan, but you might try Café Crepe on the Santa Monica Promenade and Broadway. My DH and I eat two crepes there- one breakfast: spinach, egg, bacon, and feta, and one dessert: butter, sugar, and cinnamon- once a week before we hit the Santa Monica Farmer's Market.
I wish they had an apple filling available, and I wouldn't recommend the smoked beef.
Also the service is very friendly.

Yes at fairfax farmers market. The crepe or waffle with whipped cream and berries a nice dish there.

There is that Crepe place in Mar Vista. I can't remember the name.

I remember Magic Pan since I grew up in Houston and there was one at the Galleria. I loved their deep fried cheese balls with honey mustard.

La Petite Crêperie. And they are now out of business.

Mine was the seafood crepe at Magic Pan. Everytime. Small shrimp, bay scallops, plus a delicate helping of thyme and tarragon.

Time passed and we had crepes right on the ocean, dockside in Cassis, where nothing could compare!
They poured Grand Marnier all over our first of many crepes of apricot and cherry; later ones were a plain crepe, flavored with ONLY Grand Marnier slathered about!

I got sick later from my gluttony! it was and is rare for me to overeat...
...a tough job, but someone's got to do it.

I always really liked that crepe joint that was squashed in between 2nd ST and the promenade along the arizona corridor, which now houses either a Burger Lounge or er Tender Greens.

Does anyone happen to remember it ????

Did it resurface anywhere perhaps ??????????
