Sushi in Taipei
I will be in Taipei for a few days in April and am looking for a good sushi place to try. Sushi is absolutely my favorite food and currently I'm living in a city with ZERO sushi. I've heard that Taiwan has some strong Japanese influences and figured Taipei might by a good place satisfy my 6 month craving for sushi. Either way nothing can worse sushi than where I'm at now lol.
Anyone have an sushi recs?
That place looks like it is good for a quick fix, or the impression of eating fresh fish by a distribution center/receiving / wholesaler of fish coming straight in from Japan. From various blogs in Hong Kong, that location is also flooded with tourists from HK too, and isn't a best kept secret in town anymore sadly.
re: kid cha
Staying with a friend, not really sure where is. Guess I should figure that out lol, but I don't mind making a journey. That's part of the adventure for me.
As far as style. I tend to like more traditional sushi. Not really a fan of the fusion rolls with all kinds of sauces. For me well made simple nigiri is sushi at its best. For budget I'd say anything under USD 200. That's quite a wide range, but for good food I'm willing to splurge. Especially since I won't be getting sushi again for another 4 months.
I would make a reservation and go straight to Sasa Sushi 笹鮨
