places that cook with wood/charcoal

I just got back on vacation and ate more delicious wood grilled meat than you could imagine. It got me thinking, what places around Monmouth county cook with wood/charcoal?

I know there are quite a few BBQ and rodizio spots but any others?

I can think of only a handful ….bonefish and saltcreek are two chains that come to mind but what else is out there? Oh and Linos in red bank.

  1. Although I've never been, I understand the new chain restaurant at the Monmouth Mall called Firebirds, uses a wood grill. Also Prime 13 in Pt. Pleasant Beach uses one as well.

Read my review and others on Firebirds....not good.

Thanks SusieQQ. I don't doubt it. I am generally not a big fan of chains anyway.

    2. I tried long branch BBQ yesterday (that is the name of the restaurant on broadway.) I got the rib and chicken platter for 14.00. It was pretty darn good. It literally weighed over 4lbs I would say, maybe 5...lots of rice but plenty of meat. I can get three meals out of this thing. You get a big tray similar to Port Chop. There isn't a person in there speaking english so know that going in.

      1. Prime 13 in Point. Been once and would go back in a flash.
