Abu Lafia Pita - are the mini pitas a new product?

I just picked up Abu Lafia "mini pitas" up at Al Khair butchers and grocery next to JTM. They aren't as "mini" as the canapé-sized mini pitas one usually sees, and are just the right size for a small burger (lamb kefta, in this case).

I've never seen these smaller ones, but don't know whether they are new. Nice little things, whole wheat.

  1. Not to sure how "new" as I picked up a bag last year at Adonis/VSL.

Guess not, then. I just hadn't seen them at the places where I buy those kinds of breads. I haven't been to any Adonis in a while.

Mini-burgers were delicious by the way. I actually found decent greenhouse tomatoes, and sliced them thin, and added a sauce with fresh cilantro. Side salad of finely cut cabbage and carrot.

    2. They've been around for a while. I've been buying them at both Loblaws (St. Jacques) and at Akhavan.
