Midtown Group Dinner - Where should we go??

I will be in town with a group for a business conference in a few weeks. I have been put in charge of our meals and reservations.(Ugh) Where would you recommend 12 people go on a Friday and Saturday night? We can be a little loud, so a place that isn't too quiet or shwanky would be best. We are saying in Midtown (53rd) and walking would be a plus. Cost PP $100.
Help! I am making myself nuts over this.
Thank you!

  1. Wolfgang's for steak.

    Hakkasan for Asian/Chinese

    Quality Italian for Italian

A place to consider that I have been meaning to go to (but haven't yet been) that is a bit south of midtown is Empire Diner.

Second Quality Italian and I think Quality Meats would work well too.

Empire Diner is good, but a group of 12 is going to be really crammed in there.

    2. is the $100 per person including beverages (beer, wine, alcohol) + tip and taxes?

      are there any dietary restrictions?

      1. No, not including beverages. No dietary restrictions. A couple of picky eaters but we dont really take them into account.
Thanks ipsedixit - I will chek them out!

        1. 53rd on east side? Or west side? Makes a big difference as to what is walkable.....

          1. If your hotel is on the westside then I suggest the Smith. Its a nice 10 block walk through Columbus Circle and is loud and fun.

Ha! Actually The Smith works either way- there's another location on the east side at 2nd ave and 51st...
