where to buy lamb shanks in Metro West

  • 8

Now that John Dewar & Co. has shuttered both Newton & Wellesley locations, where can one buy quality lamb shanks?

  1. I'm almost positive that John Dewar & Co used Kinnealey meats (since there is some connection between the two businesses).

Kinnealey has a retail spot in Milton and there should be a few places around the Metro West with their products.

    Give them a call.

    1. You could also try Coolidge Provisions or the Meat Spot in Watertown.

      1. Dewar and Co is said to be either opening up a shop inside Volante Farm in Needham or at least providing them with their selection of vacuum sealed meats.

        1. I recently bought lamb shanks at Roche Bro. in Westborough and they were very good.

          1. I think I saw them at the Woburn WF

            1. I buy them at the Meat Spot in Watertown, Usually he has them frozen so expect to defrost or call ahead. I am hoping that when Wegman's opens I can get them there.

              1. McKinnon's in Somerville usually has meaty Australian shanks that have been excellent. It may be worth calling ahead.

                1. Roche bros in wellesley has a great butcher shop, and Volante in Needham will have a butcher on site soon, as well as whole animals.
