Could be a bread from Italy....not sure - I have purchased it from the grocery store - but want to make it on my own..

You should go look at it at the store and get the exact spelling and then we can (hopefully) do better at helping!

    2. I am not sure how you spell "Calebrassi" - but it is a bread I can not seem to concur. Looking for a bread machine recipe for it.

      1. since I'm not sure what you're l@@kin for-don't know if this'll help
I've adapted/used many non bread machine recipes in the bread machine with good results.

        1. I assume you're looking for Calabrese bread or pane Calabrese. Google those terms and you'll find a ton of recipes.

Yes - it is "Calabrese bread" - I am looking for. I would like a recipe starting the dough in a bread machine - any help is most welcoming...thanks...

This is the recipe that I use. I keep a calabrese starter going all the time. I can not translate this to machine for you since I have never used one:

The bread is one of my very favorites.

is there a recipe here on this link that I just can't see?
I can read what she says but don't see an actual recipe.
and if it's 25lbs of flour to start, how many of us would do that? what am I not seeing? TIA

You are right. She has pulled down the actual recipe... but thanks to the great internet, I was able to find it here.

Though you will need a magnifying glass to read it. [Or copy/paste into your favorite word processing app.]

smtucker, boy you're right. my eyes are bulging :;-/
thanks for posting that for me.
the other day in the market I saw a package that caught my eye in the deli section. it appeared to be some kind of Italian sausage dried salami whatever, it was called
calabrea or calabrese and that made me think of this recipe.
I almost bought the small package but figured I'd wait to see if this bread contained that meat. apparently not.

Why not try mixing and kneading it in the machine, then allow it rest in there. Pull it out, shape, proof and then bake in the standard oven?
