Paella - Where to go since El Meson closed?

We have been craving paella and would love to know where to venture out for the best in town. No chatter on the board about the dish other than looking for ingredients for the past few years.

Any thoughts on where to go?

  1. I've not had it, but Solera serves both a vegetable ($40) and a meat and seafood ($44) paella. Each feeds 2-4 people.

    1. They have it at Rincon 38, and I thought it was quite good. I don't see it listed on their website, as it was a separate smaller menu in addition to their tapas menu. So I'd call ahead to avoid dissapointment. Also, their other dishes are pretty darn good.

      1. If you work in downtown St. Paul, At Miguels in the skyway, has seafood paella for it's Wednesday special. From their menu - "Spanish chorizo, shrimp, calamari, clams, crawfish, octopus, Spanish smoked paprika, green and black olives, saffrom, onion, light garlic, and piquillo red pepper served with a piece of Lebanese bread." It's a good, fairly authentic rendition for skyway food. They are only open at lunch time Mon-Fri.

ssioff, have you been to At Miguel's lately? I walked through the Town Square food court today, and At Miguel's was GONE. At least, it wasn't where I thought it was, but I don't get out much.

Yes, I was there last week. It's down by where the TCF bank used to be, past Caribou and Jimmy Johns.

Yeah, it isn't in Town Square proper. It's closer to the skyway to the new Bars...

          2. Recently saw Sonora added it to their menu(E Lake I imagine) I really want to try that.

            1. Thanks all. Will report back as I get to try any of these.
