  1. Jimmy Hayes Steakhouse in Island Park is always a nice night out.

    1. The Savoy Tavern is an option.
      Thom Thom is another.
Sage Bistro is a fave of my neighbors.
Pier 95 is recommended by some

Once upon a time there was a place called Villa Doria. It was by far one of the best. It closed in 1999.
Presently it goes by Villa D’ Aqua and gets mixed reviews.

Gastronomos, have you been to Savoy since Kevin took over kitchen?

I haven't. Last I tried to go our dinner companions changed plans and we ended up at Aperitif in Rockville Centre.
          It's on my list...
Anything Kevin Liebov doing worth mentioning? He couldn't save Nicholas James Bistro I guess? Has Chef Kevin been there a week yet?

The Crease was a favorite watering hole of mine back in the day.

As a side note for south shore dining, we do still miss Chef Hal Goldman, RIP.

I agree about Aperitif in Rockville Centre. , BUT they are too high priced especially for drinks! $13.00 for a martini? Are they serious!

The prices are about double what it's worth. It was our friends suggestion since we had to change away from The Savoy Tavern. Not a bad thing, I do agree that they are high priced for the food and drinks.

Love Apertif! The setting is intimate and the service is always great. They have a delicious tuna tartare over guacamole appetizer. I also love their wine flights....great way to sample different wines.

        2. Haven't been since they changed hands but I keep hearing raves about Lombardi's on the Bay in Patchogue. When they were Louis XVI it was our favorite place of all time. Gorgeous setting.

          1. Nassau or Suffolk? In the latter: Lake House in Bay Shore or Chachama Grill in Patchogue.

What is Charcama Grill and when did it open? My parents live in East Patchogue and have never mentioned it. They have been in FL since early December though.

It's in a little shopping center, you should take them there next time you visit. Upscale but friendly/relaxed. Food is amazing! Unfortunately they opened exactly when we moved out of Patchogue, but we still manage to get there on a regular basis for lunch.

                2. I agree, and their other place Brasserie Persil in Oceanside, is also a highly over-priced place.
