Brick House Tavern. Neptune
Thinking of doing the Brick. House tonight. Does anyone have any updated info on the place? Was especially wondering if anyone has tried the halibut? This is my husbands fave fish. Thanks...
Barb - Do you mean the Brickwall Tavern in Asbury Park or the Brick House Tavern and Tap in Neptune?
Barb - I see from your edit that you meant the Brick House Tavern in Neptune. In that case, while I have had a few of their dishes, I never tried the halibut. As a whole I found the food to be mixed. Some items like the meatballs, pretzels and duck wings were good while others like the flatbread and calamari were not to my liking. That being said, it's good for what it is, a nice inviting place for drinks and a few choice appetizers. Good luck.
As EB has already pointed out there is another tread with some pretty up to date information on it.
I will add I have been a couple of times since my last post. One time alone I mistakenly ordered the pork meatballs with a spicy bbq sauce and cornbread. I won't say they were bad, but they weren't what I was expecting, the traditional, so it caught me off guard. I also tried the mac and cheese which was a little too watery in texture and lacking any rich cheesy flavor.
This past weekend we went for lunch. There was 1 crab cake sandwich enjoyed, 2 burgers received raves and I had the turkey club which was very good as well.
All in all it's a pretty decent place, for a chain. It's new and clean and friendly so I would certainly recommend it compared to anything else in that immediate area. Again, it's a chain but it's on the higher end of them.
Give it a shot and report back.
Ok went to Brick House last night . Was not impressed. Very dark inside. I got an email offering me a free burger
For my B'Day so I figured what the heck. Well the pic on the email showed one heck of a Berger. Went there and ordered it, it came out and was nothing like the pic it was such a puny Berger ordered it rare, came out medium to well. If I want a decent one I will go to Mccann's in Belmar.
Wow really? Just out of curiosity what kind of burger did you get? I wonder if the "free burger" is different than those on the regular menu, as stated above both my son and father enjoyed theirs. Was it oblong or round? Both theirs were oblong and served on a small sub type roll.
I enjoy their happy hour. Good specials on craft drafts.
Food wise, it's an above average chain bar food imo
