New season: Heartland Table

2nd (I think) season begins Saturday at (I think) 10:30 a.m. I really enjoyed the 1st season, so looking forward to this.

  1. I think that 3 episodes from the new season have already aired:

But don't worry FN will rerun them.

I have seen the fried chicken, the horseradish and the cheese episodes. The horseradish was particularly interesting because it was such a departure from what we usually see on FN cooking shows these days.

Overall, her delivery and instruction seem to have improved a bit. It's a good show and it keeps the focus on food and you can believe that Amy has some credibility with what she's talking about. It's relaxing and enjoyable to watch and you can learn a few things.

Le sigh...someday I'll actually find a show at its very beginning! Didn't know it had already started airing--thanks.

I like her calm style and realistic looking kitchen, rather than a high-style set.

However, I still shake my head about so much butter and cheese when the TV chef is maybe a size 2. How????

I like her calm demeanor, too.
Everything is more real, to me. When the host keeps telling me how perfect everything of theirs is, I want to tell them to get over themselves!
I'm still catching up on last season- I need to set my dvr to record her, really.

I agree. It's a show with a calm laid back feeling. I like it.

People aren't fat because they eat butter and cheese. It is because of portion size and carb overload, soda, sugar, etc... people who eat fats are more easily satiated, and are less inclined to overeat and binge. France is a perfect example of this. They eat butter, cream sauces, rich meats....they are mostly thin in France. I'm sure that Amy is also very active-her lifestyle would allude to that; at least.

      2. So did Season Two only get one run-through or something? it's already dropped from the FN schedule again.

        1. Are they no longer making new episodes of this show? I really enjoyed it.

That's too bad, but FN is still showing the reruns on Sunday morning at 8:30 am. For fans of the show or those who didn't see it the first time around.

I have a secret conspiracy wish for Amy Thielen that I hope, if I say it out loud, will come true. Amy’s show was produced by Lidia’s production company for FN and we all know of the Bastianich/ Batali connections. I’m hoping that maybe, just maybe, Amy will end up as part of the Batali food media network that was announced last year. She’s got the cooking chops (Bouley, Boulud, Vongerichten), great screen presence, plus she brings a regional specialty.

I'd love to see her get more shows. Enough of the FN's ridiculous contests.

            3. Anyone who pulls wild rice out of their own creek gets my vote. Her rice-chestnut pilaf is super delicious. More episodes? Hope so.
