New Ritz bacon-flavored crackers may taste treif, but they’re kosher
Unlike most things bacon-related, a new Ritz cracker is certified kosher by the Orthodox Union. Haaretz headline

I'm not sure I'm ready for cheese served on bacon-flavored crackers.

Would you have put meat on them if they were pareve? I'm vegetarian so I have a hard time imagining new places for meat.

I'm not persuaded at all. I adore cheese and crackers. And I sometimes serve a liver pate on crackers. But I like traditional cracker flavors, like wheat.

Matzo is best as a base. Neutral, not industrial- commercial- preservative taste to spoil the nice things on top.

Some of the new Lance sandwich cracker flavors are OU-D. I saw a Buffalo Chicken flavor and a Bacon & Cheddar flavor. I bought the Buffalo Chicken for my Shalach Manot baskets and tried a pack. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but they were really, really good in a junky sort of way. I will eventually try the Cheddar Bacon but I was afraid to use them for Purim. One, it seemed a little wrong, somehow, and two, I was concerned people might only see the name and not the hekscher.

The Buffalo Wing flavor Pretzel Crisps are very addictive. Just a tangy hot-sauce coating (also OU-D).

The Lance crackers are much better. :-)
And there's a coupon out for them this week...

Snyder's of Hanover has pretzel bites in "Bacon Cheddar" and I think they're delicious. I like them too much to be embarrassed by it. I haven't had them in a while because I'm reducing my junk food intake but I recommend them.

The only problem with those is that they stain fingers, so everyone knows what you've been eating!

That's easily solved with chopsticks. Also, I only buy them in small packets so that I can finish them off before anyone else knows I have them. :-D

I begin to see that I have been leading a very sheltered life. Bacon chedder pretzel bites. I had no idea
