Mochi in Edmonton

  • 3

Hello all,
I just got back from a wonderful 2 weeks in Maui, where I fell in love with mochi. I found some at T&T, but it wasn't very fresh... Are there any hidden gems in Edmonton where I can find it?
Thanks in advance!

  1. Hello, I can't help you in Edmonton, but try nuts.com - they have mochi, and everything they sell is out of this world delicious and fresh. They seem to have just about everything, too.

    1. Sadly mochi is not in very high demand here. Occasionally you can find fresh ones at Lucky 97 or T&T around Japanese holidays.

I often end up buying the rice or flour and making my own when I have a craving.

Also, what kind of mochi are you referring to? small snack pieces with different flavors, or the filled kind with chocolate or fruit inside?

      1. T&T has some really nice ice cream filled mochi in the freezer section (so far I've seen chocolate and green tea flavours). They are also not to difficult to make, you can get mochiko or glutinous rice flour at superstore and any asian market and there are loads of recipes online.
