Importing Japanese Food Products

  • 7

I reside in San Francisco and I'm trying to get my hands on some specific Japanese ingredients from Japan, mainly bottled condiments like vinegar and cooking wine. I've found them on http://amazon.jp, but they don't ship food items overseas. Is there a way around this?

Mitsuwa in Japantown is a very good suggestion. The OP may not find the exact same products, but can easily find good substitutes.

Mitsuwa is a huge Japanese supermarket in San Jose that also does mail-order.

In SF Japantown there's Nijiya and Super Mira.

      2. Have you visited the Japanese grocery stores in Japantown?

        1. You could have your purchases from Amazon.co.jp as well as other Japanese online shops delivered to Tenso for forwarding to the US:
