Cochon Butcher Expansion?

There was an article circulating last November regarding the purchase and expansion into the building next door that indicated it would be completed early 2014, tripling their space. Haven't seen anything since. Does anyone have an update?

  1. Just know the renovations are well underway, but no idea when completion is expected.

    1. I will be glad when they do finally complete the expansion. I hope they add regular tables. I hate the bar height tables they have now.

really? for a casual spot i prefer bar-height tables to regular. in my mind they help keep the meal dynamic, due to the more-active standing-like stance. sitting down puts me into a slower state of mind...

        but they are small.

For some reason I can't get comfortable sitting on a bar stool. It's not awful, but I much prefer regular tables and chairs.

I love Butcher though. Even if their chairs were made of barbed wire I would still enjoy going there.

I'm with you on the high tables and stools. They're decided not short person friendly.

Speaking of short person friendly, I had to tell a funny story. I’m sure you’ve noticed that phone books have become a thing of the past. We had a short person eating at the restaurant the other day and she couldn’t eat her food at the table because she was too low down. She asked if we had a phone book she could sit on and sadly we didn’t. I forgot that phone books still had an actual purpose.

I bet you can get a good buy on Encyclopedia Brittanicas and have multi height adjustments!

Gosh ... there's not an "app" for that?

      2. April 23 according to NOLA.con

        1. Will be closed Sunday-Tuesday before opening on Wed

          1. We were there last Friday night (4/11) and they said they would be closed for the following week in preparation for opening the expanded space.
