KCC Market - new Saturday schedule

As a result of the tragic accident last week that resulted in the death of a vendor, new rules now prevent early shopping.

Yesterday, no one except vendors were allowed to enter before the official start time of 730 am, and this has been announced as a permanent change. Vendors were instructed to, and enforced the new no-early-purchase policy.

Makes it less convenient for locals who wanted to park and shop early and get out quickly before the crowds arrive, but should not make much difference to visitors who attend to try prepared foods or to just enjoy the overcrowded ambiance.

  1. Thanks for the update.

    1. and you have to leave immediately once the market closes at 11 am

      1. Yes, more inconvenient for locals but I can understand the reasoning. People need to calm down and relax. There were a few terse verbal exchanges I witnessed between customers with long lines forming at the more popular produce vendors. It made it more difficult to maneuver as I had to lug around my large bags of produce to each vendor rather than leaving it to be picked up later. Still made it out of there in a reasonable amount of time.
