In need of cookie recipe that will not spread when baked

Being the geek that I am, I just received my 3D Dinosaur cookie cutters (along with a set of Firefly cookie cutters). Need a good recipe for a basic cookie that won't spread, so that the pieces will assemble without a hitch. I was wondering if shortbread would work, or be too crumbly - I might need something sturdier.

These are the cutters by the way....

  1. Use the recipe on the box!

Or, just google recipes for rolled cut-out sugar cookies. Shortbread probably won't hold up that well. You need a recipe including egg.

    2 sticks butter
    1 c sugar
    1 egg
    1 t vanilla extract
    .5 t salt
    2 c flour
    1 t baking powder
Mix first 3 ingredients well by hand or electric mixer, mix dry ingredients together, then into butter mixture, form into rounds, wrap, chill, then roll and cut. Bake at 350F, up to 15 min depending on how thick and how chilled they were.

    1. This No Fail Sugar Cookie has always worked well for me.
