Freezing cooked shrimp?

I'm planning to take steamed shrimp (peeled) to a picnic get-together. But, I'll be short of time the day before. I know you can safely freeze cooked shrimp. But, will they still taste good? I'd hate to mess up our beautiful Gulf shrimps.

  1. No, they won't be good if frozen, they will become spongy and unpleasant to eat. They will be safe to eat, but unfortunately they won't be good to eat.

    1. If you are cooking shrimp from a raw state you can do that a day or two before. Just cool them in running water, drain & refrigerate. They will be fine for at least three days.

      1. We buy cooked, peeled, frozen shrimp at Costco all the time and they are excellent.
