Four days in San Diego

I am traveling to SD from NYC for the first time next week and looking for some suggestions on great spots for lunch and dinner. I am staying at Pacific Terrace and will have access to a car. I also am hoping to see Laguna, La Jolla, Balboa and some other hiking areas while in town. If anyone has recommendations for some healthy/quick lunches that would be great, as I would prefer to spend more time enjoying a great dinner. Hoping to try some awesome tacos and looking for recommendations on some great restaurants in the area! Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

  1. I recommend El Pescador Fish Market in La Jolla for a healthy/quick lunch.

    Enjoy your visit.

    1. Hit up a Marisco's Fish Taco Truck. The truck off the 5 South, where the Toys R Us Store is located, will probably be the easiest to find on Industrial Ave.

        Plus one.

The truck, unironically, is also named "El Pescador." I'd recommend it over that other La Jolla place with the affected "surly localist 'tude-ism" vibe from the staff, most of whom I assume are transplants or children of previous ones.

For real irony, the truck with no seating options always seems to have much more seating than El Pescador market.

Unironically, the consommé is gratis and they don't charge you $3.50 or whatever for some 'avocado on it.' This the truck I'm talking about , just to be clear.

Two entirely different concepts of fresh, quick seafood so maybe not a fair comparison, but I would only recommend the truck in Chula Vista.

I can't explain why the other place just strikes me as a nekkid emperor. The true royalty is not to be found in LJ village.

        Go south, young man!
