best sushi/best byo

I'll be in Montreal this weekend and I have a few questions:

What are the best sushi places in town to check out? I've heard good things about Soto and also Tokiwa.

Also, can anyone recommend some good BYO's? Le P'tit Plateau sounds great but I'd like to have a backup in case we can't get in. Something in that neighborhood would be great.

Any information would be appreciated.

I would stay away from Soto. Their fish is pre-cut. On the other hand, Tokiwa slices each piece as it is ordered....it is more traditional than most of the current arty sushi places. It is also great value for money. A good back-up for LPP would be La Colombe on Duluth East (I believe on the corner of St Mathieu). Excellent food and nice ambiance. Hope this helps!

La Colombe is at the corner of St. Hubert & Duluth, IIRC. :o)
