Beignet (Kansas City, MO)

I couldn't find any other references to this bakery on the board, but my hotel left me a box of beignets supposedly from this bakery as a welcome gift, and the peanut butter and jelly beignet is outrageous.

Just fantastic. Weak-at-the-knees kind of fantastic.

Any other reports about this place? Anything else worth getting?

  1. sounds great and next time I'm in KC...

but their icon on the website is a little scary (although an idea for next Halloween)

The same guy owns a Cajun restaurant called Nica's Lagniappe in KC. Both places have New Orleans voodoo thing going on, the scary image is of Marie Laveau. I've eaten at Nica's but not at the beignet place.

Good. They serve an absinthe flight and make other good cocktails. Shrimp and grits, redfish, bread pudding with caramel sauce.

    1. Beignet's website at is apparently gone, but the restaurant is definitely still open. (I just phoned them to verify.) You can view their menu on the Urbanspoon website at
