Easter Dinner (or is it supper?)

Hi CH friends! I will be visiting NOLA during Easter weekend. We made reservations at The Pelican Club at the recommendation of a kind genetleman we met at the Napolean House during our last visit. He said we have to try it since we've never been before. What are your thoughts? Should I cancel the reservation now & book elsewhere? Or are we safe? There's 5 of us-one is a vegetarian. Thanks! Happy St Patrick's Day!

  1. Never have been a fan of the Pelican Club, too loud and the food is just OK. Lots of other choices, but some people like the place. Where have you been before in the FQ?

I think the food is better then OK. Not the best but I'd have no problem going there.
      But it is loud

collard, when I looked at the online menu, the offerings sound really good. I'm not sure I want the loudness though. Thanks!

TaTee, we have been to just about every restaurant in the FQ. I actually wanted to book at either Clancy's, French Quarter Bistro or Galatoire's for Easter, but that old guy described the food & atmosphere at the Pelican Club like it was in a class by itself. Ok, yours is the first NAY vote, a few more like that & I will definitely cancel the reservation! Thanks for your input.

      3. Clancy's or Galatories in a heartbeat.

I'm definitely leaning towards Galatoire's, but I'll let hubby decide between the 2 so he can feel like he helped plan this trip! LOL

Ok, we canceled our reservation for the Pelican Club & now I have 2 reservations on Easter at 6pm for Criollo at Hotel Monteleone & Domenica. I'm leaning towards Criollo's but would love to hear everyone's thoughts on both. Need to decide soon so I can cancel one of the reservations in a timely fashion. Thanks fellow CHers!!

Wait why did you cancel Pelican Club? It's very good. Criollo has been terrible on my two visits. Domenica is great. Between those two it's no contest, but seems like Pelican Club would have been better for Easter.

The group decided they wanted to try one of the other 2 restaurants instead. Majority rules...

If he doesn't like to dress up skip Galatoire's. Easter will be a riot of finery.

Hazel, we can't wait to see everyone in their Easter finery!! We'll be dressed too, but not as lovely as everyone else there, I'm sure.
