Recent experience at La Taverna di Moranda in Monticchiello?

When we were last here in 2008 it was probably the best restaurant of a multi-week trip in Italy (in particular, the stuffed pigeon was excellent), but I seem to recall reading somewhere that, since then, the chef has retired and her daughter has taken over. Can anyone who has eaten here recently comment on the experience?

  1. We stay in Monticchiello every year for a month. Taverna di Moranda is our favorite restaurant in the entire area. Massimo still makes every single dish from excellent local ingredients, and his wife, Fransoise makes all the desserts.
    If you go, tell them Pamela and Patrick say hello.
