Any good S Asian and Malaysian –Camden, London?

Paprikaboy Mar 15, 2014 11:00 AM

My office is moving to Camden next week. I haven’t eaten that much round Camden and have found a few places to try, particularly Lemongrass and Yum Cha. However I’m struggling to find any decent South Indian/Sri Lankan or Malaysian places . I was pretty spoilt having my main office in Paddington (many good Malaysian places) and also regularly visited the offices in Wembley and East ham for my South Indian and Sri Lankan fix. I know I’m not going to get anywhere near the same choice in Camden but just one decent place would be nice.

Just come back from Malaysia where the food was almost universally great. Where should I get my fix in Paddington?

Great to have you back! Try Tukdin for their nasi lemak, while not the best in the world, is certainly better than any I've tried outside Singapore, and quite a few in Singapore.

        Hi greedy,
In terms of nasi lemak I would concur with Limster Tukdin is the a step up from the other examples I've had round Paddington. Pak Awie, Satay House and Melur are all pretty much on the same level. I would say Pak Awie is the most consistent and their lunch buffet is quite good and they also do roti canai. Melur has some aspects of their dishes that are great but are let down by other elements.
If you want something a little more rough and ready then try Bonda which is more homestyle cooking. Their nasi campur at lunch time is good value but the quality of cooking and variety of dishes at lunch very much depends on which day you go and who the chef is,
